Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today I'm bring you a review of the highly popular Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. This palette was kindly gifted to me by beautiful friend Shazia for my birthday in July - the month it was actually released in the UK - I was excited to say the least!
In this post I'll tell you a bit about the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette and give you some first impressions and thoughts on it based on my time using it.
The Heat palette is the fifth palette in Urban Decay's "Naked" collection which started with Naked 1, 2, 3 and then Naked Smoky before the release of Heat this year. As with the other palettes in the collection, it retails at £39.50 in the UK and can be purchased from Debenhams, John Lewis and the Urban Decay website to name a few retailers.
This is what Urban Decay have to say about it:
Give in to the heat of the moment with 12 all-new, can’t-live-without, amber-hued neutrals – including warm browns, burnt oranges and deep red eyeshadows. The most shade-driven Naked palette UD has ever done, this warm eyeshadow palette takes Naked in a whole new direction. From a super-smooth red-brown matte and a glimmering copper to a deep, shifty bronze, Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette has everything you need to create sultry daytime looks, intense smoky night-time looks and everything in between.
As mentioned, this palette has 12 shades with matte, metallic and shimmer finishes. It comes with a full length mirror and as with all the other palettes, a double ended brush. Let's into the shades and their descriptions:

FIRST IMPRESSIONS & THOUGHTS:
I LOVE this palette and it's easily one of my favourites in my entire collection already. Warm browns and reds are such versatile colours in my opinion and are flattering on everyone. They're easy to wear and create looks with which is why I always gravitate towards them and why they're my favourite kind of colours. These shades are right on trend at the moment in the beauty community and it's great to see that Urban Decay have gotten on board with this and listened to what customers want to see.
Whilst I really liked the original Naked Palettes when my interest in beauty first began, I don't find myself reaching for them anymore in recent years and when comparing them with this palette, I actually see a real difference in quality as well as aesthetic. These shades are very creamy, blendable and nicely concentrated - so much so that I was actually quite pleasantly surprised when first using them on just how richly pigmented they were.
By far one of my favourite things about this palette and what easily puts this on top of the others is the matte to metallic / shimmer ratio. Their are 7 mattes to choose from which I love as this makes it so much more workable and versatile in my opinion. Mattes are great as a basis of colour on the eye as well as for blending and transitioning colours and in many ways, this makes them a lot more important than shimmers and metallics for me. I found that in the other Naked palettes, mattes were lacking and this made a lot of the looks you could create quite limited whilst with this one, I don't have this problem at all. I hope if Urban Decay are to release anymore palettes in this collection that they stick with this and continue adding more mattes over other finishes.
OVERALL THOUGHTS:
Overall, I love this palette and I would certainly recommend it. You have a great selection of colours allowing you to create some beautiful, warm eyeshadow looks that are perfect for both everyday wear and nighttime with room to add more intensity. The fact that they are inspired by warm reds and browns also make them visually unique and they're such a nice change to typical neutrals in my opinion. I've had a lot of compliments when wearing this palette and as mentioned earlier, I really think this will work for so many skin tones. If you love warm tones and want a unique palette to add to your collection, this is definitely for you.
Have you tried the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette? What are your thoughts?
