STUD STYLE

When it comes to jewellery, I like to keep it simple and low maintenance. Whilst I do enjoy a statement piece now and then, generally I like my fashion and makeup to do the talking. Even so, it's nice to still have nice some accessories that you can utilise to complete your outfit. One of my favourite pieces of jewellery to wear are earrings - in today's post I thought I'd go through the Ted Baker studs I recently purchased to add to my accessory collection.

The studs I purchased are all the same style - the "Eisley Enamel Mini" and I have three colour variations to share with you. The earrings are simple and minimal in a button style design - they come in silver, gold and rose gold colour ways with the middle of the stud available in a range of different colours too.

The first pair I have are these rose gold and baby pink studs. As you can see, the outer rim of the stud is a plated rose gold and the middle of it is a beautiful baby pink shade. These earrings are cute and girly yet still chic and sophisticated! 

Next I have a pair that are a little more shall we say, special? They are a beautiful gold and have a lovely sparkly glitter center. These studs have the most beautiful shine to them when hit by the light and are still perfect for everyday wear but will also be great for a special occasion and when you want to wear something with an added sparkle. These are easily one of my favourite pairs of earrings!

Finally, I have this rose gold and black pair. I love the contrast between the two colours on these earrings and the black colour adds an "edgier" feel to the studs and your outfit. 

Overall, I love these studs and think I'll definitely be collecting more colours. They're minimal yet make a great addition to your look. They're really nice quality for costume jewellery and definitely feel on the higher end scale.

Fashion | The Olivia Burton Watch

Accessories aren't something I usually pay much attention to when it's comes to fashion. I like to keep things simple and pretty minimal. However, I have been wanting to expand my more modest collection of jewellery and add some more quality pieces to it that'll actually last. On the more practical side of things, I thought getting a nice watch would be pretty good place to start!

For Valentines day, my boyfriend got me this beautiful Olivia Burton watch. I'd been browsing a selection of watches from this brand ever since I spotted them in Selfridges last year. I'm kind of picky with watches as I'm not a fan of anything that's too bulky. This particular watch however is perfect within its dimensions and I feel like it suits me really well. The style of the watch is the Midi Dial - the colour combination being rose and rose gold. This watch is so feminine yet at the same very sophisticated and understated which is something I really like about it. It's beautifully made and I can tell that it's great quality.

I definitely want to get another watch from this brand, after browsing there's definitely something for everyone both in style and design. This is totally going to be a staple in my accessory collection from now on!

ASOS Haul!

It's that time again... I have yet another haul to share with you all. This haul is from one of my most favourite online stores: ASOS! I love ASOS, it literally has everything you could want and from all sorts of different retailers too - brilliant.

So, let's get straight in and start with this pencil skirt. It is a plain black midi pencil skirt and it is in textured style. Originally, I thought I had ordered one that was not textured at all as textured patterns on anything is usually something I steer clear from. When I initially got this therefore, I was quite disappointed After trying it on though, I actually really like it - it's very flattering and really hugs all of your curves in a lovely way.

Next, I got this adorable check / gingham print playsuit. I'm loving this pattern lately and I thought this would be a really nice piece in my wardrobe. It's one I think I could dress up or down and it'll be great for Summer (if and when we get one).

I also got this grey, t-shirt style smock dress from ASOS and I've been looking for something like this for a while. I love how simple it is because it means I can combine it with all sorts of different accessories and clothing items. I also love the skater style as that is my favourite style of dress or skirt!

Next off, I got this over-sized clutch bag (you can also get it from Newlook if you want to). I don't really own any clutch bags, in particular none in this over-sized style so I thought I'd pick one up.

I also got some midi-rings from ASOS. I don't really wear any rings, for me they are an accessory I always forget about but I really like the look of midi-rings and so I picked up this pack of three gold ones.

The last item I got was this really pretty, lace cami top. It's so pretty and i think the floral design and the flowy fit makes it perfect for Summer!

What I Got For Christmas! Part 1 - Fashion and Accessories!

Hello all! First off, I hope every one of you had a truly wonderful Christmas! In this post I'm going to share with you all of the amazing gifts I got - I am truly grateful and blessed to have such an amazing, generous people in my life and it is them that I most grateful for.

I'm gonna split this post into two separate ones: one which will feature the beauty, skincare and fragrance presents that I received & then another one on the fashion and accessories. This post is going to be on the fashion and accessory presents that I got! So yeah - enjoy! (Quick side note - apologies for the over exposure in some photos - lighting sucked so I used my in camera flash. Some items therefore aren't exactly true to their colour but hey ho!)

So, the first thing I got were of course my floral Dr Martens which as you know, I got early! These are the floral 1460's and I absolutely love them. They go with everything and are amazing quality. They really stand out and make a lovely addition to an outfit.

Next off, I got these Converse high tops. I love my Converse and these ones are a little different. They are actually suede and have this lovely, warm fluffy inside. They are also in the dainty style so the sole is not as chunky as original Converse.

I received this lovely beanie hat too, and it's just a plain cream one from Asos with this cute little bobble on top. It's thick and cable knit so it's going to be perfect for cold weather.

Next we have this Cath Kidston bag which is something I have wanted since i clocked eyes on it in Selfridges. It's in this absolutely beautiful floral pattern and I just can't wait to start using it for Uni. It's the perfect size for everything I will need to bring and you can just tell it's great quality.

Still on bags, I also got this cream satchel from Forever21. I think it's very sophisticated and girly and is a decent size for taking the little essential things I will want if I am popping out or going shopping!

Back onto Cath Kidston, I received this lovely mini purse which I wanted for when I just want to take a little bit of money out or If I'm just heading to the shops or something. It's super cute and actually matches my bag really well which I didn't realise, haha.

The last bag I received was this tan, River Island one. I have one very similar which I got a few years back from there but to my sadness it's sort of.. falling apart haha. Well, the strap is wearing a bit but I really love the bag so I'm so happy I have a similar replacement incase it ever breaks. It looks more or less the same but it is a little bigger which again is perfect for Uni!

On to clothes now, I got this black and grey Superdry top. I love casual, black and white / grey tops, I think they are super trendy and got great with Converse which I have a lot of. This top is really soft and made very well - Superdry is one of my favourite brands.

Next, I got this long sleeved Baseball style raglan top. I have wanted one of these for AGES but could never find one that was either plain, or the right fit and style. This however, is PERFECT!

The last clothing item I received was this thick, knitted cardigan. I love these types of cardigans and they are my favourite to pair with dresses and layer with on cold days. This is in a dark navy colour and I believe it is from Boohoo.

The last gift for this post that I got was this beautiful necklace from Warren James, it is real silver and has absolutely beautiful purple stone hanging from it. Purple is my favourite colour and I really do love this!

TUTORIAL: Side twist and bun.

Hi! I have a hair tutorial for you all today. This is an up do I have been wearing a lot lately and I thought I'd share it with you. It combines a cute side twist and a volumized high bun. Enjoy!

So, for this look you'll need:

• Some bobby pins
• A fine tooth comb
• Hair bobbles
• Hairspray

Let's begin! Firstly, brush you hair out and brush it backwards away from your face. Once you have done this, section off your fringe and a little bit of your other hair from whatever side you want to wear your twist. For this look, I wear my twist on the opposite side that I usually wear my fringe.

Once you have sectioned this hair, pull it in front of your face and put the rest of your hair up into a neat, high pony tail. This will be start of your bun. Now, back to the section of hair; to get a more volumized side twist, gently back comb the hair first. Then take two pieces and twist them - plaiting them tightly against your head, after each twist add more hair to each of your two pieces. Repeat this until you have a twist that goes just past your hair. Pin your twist with some bobby pins until secure.

With the hair in your pony tail, bring it up and back comb the underneath of the pony tail until you have lots of volume. Bring your hair down and tidy any bits that are sticking up, being careful not to brush out the volume. Take one side of the ponytail and poof it up to your liking so that it resembles a bun, then secure it place at the side with a bobby bin. Repeat this step with the other side of the ponytail. Any stray hairs pin in place towards the bun and tuck it underneath it possible. Gently pull out the bun a little bit if you want it to be a little bigger and shape it as you want it to be. Spray a generous amount of hair spray all over the hair to keep it in place.

Once you are done, you can now accessorise. I just took a cute little bow clip and put it in front of my bun. You can do this too or add anything else that you want too!

And that's the look. It's super easy and I personally think it looks really nice. Have fun trying it if you do and let me know how it goes! Thank you very much for reading!
