NOTD | Frozen

Today's nails were unintentionally Frozen inspired, apparently. As I unknowingly completed my manicure, I realised the striking resemblance to the theme of the movie and decided to just roll with it. I suppose it's actually quite appropriate for this time year!

The Best Of: Barry M

As a self-proclaimed beauty fanatic, I like to think I have acquired a pretty good knowledge on certain brands and what they have to offer. With that in mind, I thought it would be interesting to start a new series on my blog that looks at "The Best Of" certain brands. I will shortlist my personal favourite items from each chosen brand and tell you a little bit about why I love them so much.

So, I'm going to kick this new series off with Barry M - though it's a cosmetic brand that offers a variety of products, I'm going to focus on what Barry M is perhaps best known for and that is their nail polishes! I've racked up quite the collection over the years and today I'll share with you what I consider to be the best of the bunch!

The first polish I love from Barry M is their Diamond Glitter (350) polish. I love this particular glitter from Barry M because it's very dainty and full of smaller glitter pieces. This makes for a really beautiful addition to whatever shade you're wearing and adds a little bit of dimension to your manicure!

Next is Cotton (506) which is a bold, white shade. I have found it difficult in the past to find a good white nail polish - one that doesn't require a million different layers and isn't streaky. This one however is opaque in 2 layers and I don't find it be streaky at all - win!

Next up is Heather (402) which is part of their "Silk" range. It has a beautiful pearly finish and the shade itself is very soft and feminine. This dries super fast and is great for a quick manicure.

 Mint Green (304) is another shade that I love from Barry M - it's a perfect summer colour and this also dries fairly fast which is great. I don't usually gravitate towards greens on my nails but I think this one is really pretty.

And finally, we have Bright Red (262) - this is a much loved shade of mine as you can probably tell. This is an all round, classic and bold red shade that I think is a great staple in anyones nail polish collection.

Nails of the Day #1!

Hi guys! I have a nail post for you all today - it's been a while since I've done one of those and my nails really aren't in the best of shape but I like to try and make 'em look pretty! As you can see, they're pretty short and I'm in the process of changing their shape which is why I cut them down. Luckily, my nails grow pretty fast so in a week or two they should look much better!

So, today on my nails I'm wearing two polishes layered together. The first is by the brand Nails INC in the shade 'Park Lane Mews' and the second is from Barry M - it's a glitter topcoat in the shade 'Rose Quartz Glitter'.

Face of the day #10: Purple Power.

Hey! It's a Face of the Day in this post and this week I've been embracing my love of purple. This look communicates that pretty well as I'm rocking a purple lip and liner! I really want to try out some more colourful liners - do any of you guys have any recommendations for me? It's always so hard to find ones that are pigmented! Face of the Day #7: Colourful Liner

Hey guys! Today I'm coming at you with a makeup of the day post. This look was one I kind of wanted to play around with. I went for a bright liner (something I never do) and a bright lip combo.

HAUL: Superdrug & Paperchase!

Hey! We had lovely weather yesterday and so I thought I'd take a trip to my local town centre. I took a walk along the park and did a little spot of shopping. So, I'm going to share with you the bits and bobs I got...

Firstly, I picked up a bottle of bubble bath. I love a good bubble bath, they are so relaxing and perfect after a long or tiring day for just unwinding in. The one I got is the ILoveCosmetics Strawberries and Cream bubble bath and it smells amazing!

Next off, I picked up Maybelline's Baby Skin primer. I've seen this around quite a lot lately and it has intrigued me since it first came out. So, I thought I'd finally give it a go - keep on the look out for a review on this product!

Taking advantage of the 3 for 2 deal on all cosmetics in Superdrug, I picked up two more items. The first being another Revlon Colourburst Matte balm. This particular one is the shade Elusive and it's a really natural pink shade.

Lastly from Superdrug, I got a Barry M nail paint. This one is part of their Aquarium Collection and is called 'aqnp3'.

The final thing I picked up on my shopping trip was a notebook. I love how this looks and I got it for the purpose of noting down creative things like blog post ideas, project ideas and makeup / fashion ideas.

Hey! Today's post is a nail of the day - enjoy!

I'm quite liking glitter top coats lately after getting my newest Barry M one and so that's what I am wearing today. The main colour I have one is part of Barry M's Gelly range and it's in the shade 'Blueberry'.

Next off, I added Barry M's 'Diamond Glitter' top coat to give it a bit more of a festive, shimmery look. I really love this top coat and it goes with and adds that little something to any colour you can think of. It's an extremely versatile top coat and I'm really enjoying it lately!

Finally, to protect the colour and add that little bit more shine, I put a clear top coat on top of the nail polish. The top coat I used is from 2True and it's currently my favourite top and base coat as it really does its job and well!
