Beauty Haul | TooFaced, Hourglass & L'Oreal

Hello everyone! I hope you're well and that you're week is going great so far!

Today I wanted to share with you a small beauty haul featuring a couple of items that I picked up for myself recently. Enjoy!

Firstly, I picked up Too Faced's Born This Way Foundation in the shade Vanilla. Foundation is a particular piece of makeup that I'm happy to invest that little bit more into and after hearing great things about this one, I decided to pick it up. I've tried it a few times and so far, I really like it - watch this space for a full review coming soon!

Secondly, I got L'Oreals Volume Million Lashes Mascara. I have long yet poker-straight eyelashes which are a pain to say the least. It is rare for me to find a mascara that maintains any kind of curl in my annoying lashes so I'm holding out some hope for this one.

Next off is this blusher / bronzer 'Soul Mates' duo from the TooFaced. Whilst this isn't something I actively was looking to add to my collection, when I saw it in Tk Maxx for the amazing price of just £9.99, I had to pick it up. I'm actually getting into bronzing my skin more so I'm looking forward to giving this a go - the blush is a great staple pink shade too!

Finally and certainly last but not least, I picked up this beautiful blusher from Hourglass in the shade Luminous Flush. This is a gorgeous pink shade that is finely milled and velvety soft - I have only tried this once but have been blown away but its beautiful pigmentation and its blend-ability. This one will also be getting review treatment very soon!

REVIEW | Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Blusher - Peachy Pink Kisses

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to give you a first impressions of a Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts blusher than my lovely friend Tanith of Things Tanith Did picked up for me!

The shade I received is Peachy Pink Kisses - one which we'd both been searching for high and low in Superdrug but could never find in stock. The first thing I really love about this blush so far is the packaging which is clearly inspired by the Too Faced Sweetheart blushes - it's very pretty and ultra girly - good packaging is always something I appreciate in a makeup product!

The blush itself is triple baked - a formulation I always love in blushes as I find them to be really blendable and pigmented. This blush is - as the name suggests - a light peachy coral shade with three colours in it. The first two colours in the blush on me are more like highlighters with the third being the one with that has the peachy colour to it. Due to it being more highlight-y and shimmery because it's a baked formulation, I really love to layer this one top of a powder blush that is a similar but deeper shade and it really adds a beautiful glow to it.

Overall, I really love this blush so far and I think it's going to be a particularly lovely shade for the Summer and definitely one for those of you with lighter skin tones. For £4.99 from either Superdrug or Makeup Revolution's website, I really don't think you can go wrong!

REVIEW | TooFaced Sweethearts Blush

I first discovered TooFaced with my purchase of the infamous Chocolate palette about a year ago. I wasn't disappointed by the hype it had produced and from that day on, I knew I wanted to try more that the brand had to offer.

Whilst I had dabbled with eye and lip products, I'd never tried anything they had to offer for the face and when the Sweetheart Blushes came on the scene, I knew I had to try one. A few months ago, I finally picked up the shade I'd been eyeing up for some time and today, I'm going to review it for you - enjoy.

What TooFaced Have to Say:

My Thoughts:

The first thing that I noticed about this blush is its packaging. Like with all of the TooFaced product's the packaging is so adorable, very girly and just well, pretty. I really like this aspect because it's nice for a beauty product to also look aesthetically good itself - especially if you like to display your makeup items. What I'm not so much of a fan of however is the Benefit-esque cardboard packaging. For something as expensive as it is, I would like to have seen better packaging made from a more durable material.

So, in terms of the product itself I'll firstly start by talking about the shade. As far as I am aware, the Sweethearts Blushes come in 3 shades, mine is called "Something About Berry". As mentioned in the description TooFaced provided for this blush, it is actually a trio which can be applied individually by colour or swirled together and applied as one. The colours within this blush are a mauve pink shade, a peach and a deeper magenta pink. When swirled together, you get a beautiful medium pink shade that has a gorgeous and subtle shimmer to it.

The blush itself is baked and this is always a formulation of blush that I enjoy. I find colours to be more intense but at the same time, I find them to also be softer and easier to blend. I'd say this is definitely the case with this blush. I would however say, it is quite easy to get carried away and blend away the intensity on this blush so I'd suggest going slow and using more of a "patting" motion where you'd like the most colour payoff. The colour is really beautiful though and it adds a lovely natural glow and flush of colour to the cheeks. As stated, it is buildable depending on the look you're going for and I think this shade is versatile for a lot of skin colours. Having worn it for at least a good 6 hours, I can definitely say that it lasts well as well which is always a winner in my book.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this blusher and I think it's really beautiful. I'm definitely interested in trying the peach shade in the range and I do believe this is a good quality blush that's worth the money - especially if you're a fan of brands like TooFaced. If the price tag is a little too much, I think this would make a great gift for a beauty lover.

REVIEW: Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink

Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a good weekend so far. Today, I'm going to be reviewing a Milani blush for you all which is in the shade 'Dolce Pink'. Milani is an American brand and so is not readily available in the UK, I've found it a couple of times in pound shops such as Poundland but predominantly, I get Milani from Amazon. I love their lipsticks and this particular blush is my second one in their baked blush range.

Packaging:

I really like the packaging of Milani's products from their lipsticks to these blushes. I love the rose gold and I feel that it gives their products that higher end feel. It's always nice to have makeup that looks good too and it's nice to know this is something they have considered in their design.

This blush also comes with a mirror and a handy brush in it's third layer which makes it great for travel and on the go touch ups!

Colour and Pigmentation:

As I mentioned earlier, the shade of this blush is called 'Dolce Pink' and it is a beautiful, medium pink shade with gold shimmer running through it.

It is a very shimmery blush so for some, this may be off putting - however, on the skin I feel it gives a sheen rather than making you look like a glitter ball and so I think this makes it a great Summer shade for that glowy look.

This blush has great colour payoff and as I said gives a really nice sheen to the skin - perfect for Summer and is comparable to a MAC Mineralize blush or even Skin Finish. I also think it's a pretty good dupe for NARS' infamous Orgasm blush, too. Dolce Pink is nicely pigmented and gives a good colour payoff.

Application and Wear:

I find this blush applies smoothly which is something I have found more often with baked formulas. I also found that it blends nicely on the skin too and it feels soft and smooth. In terms of wear, this lasts a good few hours (5-6) before any noticeable fading which I think is pretty good for a blush. Though I have not tried them myself, I can tell you that from my research many have said these are comparable in the look and feel of the MAC Mineralize range so if they are a little too pricey for you, Milani baked blushes may be a good alternative!

Overall, I really like this blush and I feel like it's a perfect shade for Summer. On my paler skin, I find it to be really flattering and it gives a lovely glow. I feel as if this shade is very versatile too and will go with a whole host of different looks. I'd definitely recommend it and as a drugstore brand in America, Milani blushes are also very reasonable in price too so you can't really go wrong.
