REVIEW | ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS MODERN RENAISSANCE PALETTE

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well today. I thought I'd bring you a review of a palette that I have had in my possession for a while now. It is none other than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette.
Spoiler Alert: I love this palette so much and in today's post, I'm going to explain to you why.

What the brand says:

Quite possibly the most-coveted {Anastasia Beverly Hills}’ eyeshadow palette yet, Modern Renaissance features 14, highly-pigmented powders in a rainbow of pinks, taupes and berries. With 11 matte and 3 metallic shadows, alongside a dual-ended soft bristle brush for seamless application and diffusion, the versatile palette is a thing of beauty and a joy to use – perfecting for creating an array of day-to-evening make up looks.

The Shades:

So, as mentioned above, this palette contains mattes and metallic colours and their shade descriptions (as described by the brand themselves) are:

Top Row (L to R)

 Tempera (ultra-matte, velveteen beige),
Golden Ochre (matte, earth-toned yellow),
Vermeer (iridescent shell pink)
Buon Fresco (matte antique lavender)
Antique Bronze (metallic bronze)
Love Letter (ultra-matte raspberry)
Cyprus Umber (matte dark coffee)

Bottom Row (L to R)

Raw Sienna (matte, neutral amber)
Burnt Orange (deep matte orange)
Primavera  (shimmering gold dust)
Red Ochre (ultra-matte red stone)
Venetian Red (matte crimson)
Warm Taupe (earth-toned grey)
Realgar (ultra-matte brick)

Whilst on first glance it may seem like only a few looks can be achieved with this palette, it is actually incredibly versatile. Some of my favourite shades are the yellow and oranges as they make for beautiful eyeshadow looks all over the lid or as transition colours. This also makes this palette perfect for teaming with other palettes and shadows from your collection too and I find myself always reaching for this palette in that sense as well. These wonderful, warm shades are so flattering with my eye colour and I can definitely seem them being beautiful on other eye colours too - these intensely pigmented shades really make the eyes pop.

Application and Pigmentation:

These shadows are buttery soft and apply like a dream to the eyelid. They pack a massive punch in terms of pigmentation and are easily some of most concentrated eyeshadows I have ever come across. Due to their intense pigmentation, fall out is something you will be faced with when it comes to some of the shadows but this is a very minor issue when you're getting some beautiful concentration. A little loose powder and a fluffy brush will get rid of this issue with little difficulty!

In terms of blending, they once again are seriously impressive. They seem to blend forever and can be layered to build up intensity without muddiness. This makes for a really easy application and even the most inexperienced makeup user can produce a beautiful, seamless eyeshadow look.

Overall Thoughts:

This is probably the best palette I have ever purchased and it's easily one of if not my favourite palette that I currently own. The hype for this product really was true and definitely well worth it - I've never experienced such pigmentation from a shadow - as well as such an ease of blending too. This is certainly worth the price and definitely worth buying in my opinion. As I mentioned above, this is such a versatile palette and it's one that I reach for most days if not some weeks every single day. I'm always getting compliments when wearing the shadows in this palette and people are always asking about it so I'm definitely not the only to appreciate it's beauty. If you're going to make one splurge on a must have product, this would be on my recommendation list for sure!

This palette retails for £41.00 and can be purchased from Cult Beauty in the UK. Each shadow is 0.7g.
