Review: Soap and Glory's The Righteous Butter.

In this post I am going to review for you one of my favourite body products from Soap and Glory. That particular product is The Righteous Butter.

First off, the packaging of this product as with all other their other products is really pretty and lovely to look at. Obviously this doesn't actually say anything about how good or bad the product is, but good packaging is always an added bonus!

The scent of this butter is really fruity and fresh. It is definitely what you would call a girly smell. The butter is scented with Soap and Glory's Original Pink fragrance which is fresh and Summery with orange leaves, peach, strawberries, summer rose and jasmine. The butter is much thicker than a body lotion and a little bit really does go a long, long way so one tub is going to last for ages. It does not absorb straight away into the skin and takes a few minutes which isn't a problem and you don't feel greasy or oily after application. This butter moisturizes extremely well, leaving skin feeling soft and supple not to mention smelling beautiful. Shea butter and aloe vera is also contained within this product which is always a bonus!

On to price, this butter retails for £10.50 for 300ml, which yes is a little pricey but as I said it does last for a very long time so I definitely think it is worth the investment. Alternatively, you can buy this butter as part of a trio for only £15 for 3 150ml tubs! You can also get a smaller sized tube of this butter for £2.50 if you just want to give it a try. You can find Soap and Glory products in places such as Boots or you can make some purchases on their website. Soap and Glory are against animal testing and are cruelty free which is also really great!

So yeah, that was my review on Soap and Glory's Righteous butter. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post!

Have you tried this butter? What are your S&G favourites?

Mini Lush Haul!

Today I thought I would do a mini haul / first impressions post on two little things I got from Lush!

The things I got were gifts and they came in a box set - though these products are sold on their own and can be bought in these sizes! My gift box is called Tutti Fruity and it contains a 100g bar of Miranda soap and a 100g bottle of Happy Hippy shower gel.

The Miranda soap is a Vegan friendly fruity soap containing a blend of exotic fruit and essential flower oils. It smells really fresh and sweet and I look forward to using it. This soap retails at £3.40 per 100g.

The Happy Hippy is also Vegan friendly and it is gel for both hair and body. It has a lovely grapefruit scent to it and is very fresh and zesty. This will be perfect for waking yourself up in the morning! This shower gel retails at £3.25 per 100g.

And that was my little Lush haul post! I hope you liked it and I will definitely be posting reviews on these two products in the future!

Have you tried either of these products from Lush?

Review: Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon.

In this post I am going to be reviewing a lip product. The product in question being Barry M's Lip Lacquer Crayons. I picked one of these up from Boots while browsing, it looked like an interesting product and I had never used anything like this on my lips so I thought why not!

I got my Crayon in shade Cherry Red. It can be sharpened and is a fat pencil so you will need a sharpener that has a big enough for hole for it which isn't too much of a hassle. For the price, I think it is a really good size and a little bit of this goes a long way so it will be a while before you have to sharpen it. The crayon is really pigmented, one or two coats and you are good to go. You can also build up the colour if you want to as it can appear more of a stain with a light application. The shape and size of the products allows for easy and precise application.

The finish of this product is a shimmery, glossy one but it's not over the top. The feel of it on the lips sort of meets in the middle between a lipstick and a lip gloss. It feels creamy and moisturizing on the lips and not too heavy. The only slightly annoying thing about this crayon is the shimmer left behind when the colour itself fades. But this is not too big a deal and you can always just touch this up. The crayon will last for around 2-3 hours before fading which isn't too bad, I would recommend taking it with you anytime you go out with it on as if you want to maintain the bright colour it will be necessary to touch it up. However, it does fade to quite nicely to a sort of lipstain which could be topped off with a gloss and would look really pretty.

Overall, I really like the product. I think it is handy to carry around and take with you anywhere and because you can build the colour up, it can go with numerous looks. The colour itself is really beautiful and I think you are getting a really good amount of product for your money. As I said, I purchased mine from Boots and it retails there at £4.99. You can find it at stockists such as Boots and Superdrug or online on Barry M's own website.

Thank you for reading and I hoped you like this post! Have you tried Barry M's Lip Lacquer Crayon? What are your opinions on it?

MOTD: Beautiful Berry.

So, as you may have guessed from the title, this look is all centered around berry tones. There are pretty purples and pinks in this look too and I think it is really nice for Summer. Keep reading and I shall tell you how I created this look..

So, to begin I applied primer to my face and then my foundation with a buffing brush. After this, I concealed any redness and blemishes with my Collection 2000 concealer and set everything with a little bit of powder. After this, I then filled in my eyebrows with a dark brown brow powder and brushed it out a little with a brow comb.

Now, onto the eyes. For this look I used my Sleek Snapshots. So, I primed my eyelids first and then applied the bright purple from my palette all over the lid. I blended this out a little with a flushy brush and topped the purple with a shimmery lilac colour. Next, I applied a bright pink to the crease and worked it about two thirds of the way in. I deepened the outer corners of my lid with more of the bright purple. I also went back over the pink to deepen that as well. After this, I took the shimmery white colour and highlighted the inner corners of my eye and my brow bone. I lined my eyes with liquid eyeliner and flicked it out slightly. Finally, I curled my lashes and applied mascara.

Back onto the face and lips, I contoured using my Sleek Face Form palette and also applied the blush from that palette as well onto my cheeks. I took the highlight colour too and higlighted the top of my cheeks, nose and cupids bow. Finally, I applied this really pretty MUA lipstick.

And that is the look done! I really hope you like this look and thank you for reading. Don't forget to give me a follow on here and on Bloglovin' if you like!

The products I used were:

Face / Lips:
• Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation.
• Collection 2000 Concealer.
• MUA Lipstick.
• Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

Eyes / Eyebrows:
• Elf Eyelid Primer.
• Sleek Snapshots palette.
• GloMinerals Mascara.
• Collection 2000 Liquid Eyeliner.

Review & Advice: Colour B4 Hair Colour Remover.

So today I wanted to do a review on a product and also give you guys a bit of advice on how I personally use it.

The product I am going to be speaking about is the Colour B4 Hair Colour Remover. What this basically does is something kind of similar to bleaching. It strips your hair of all of the dye on it by shrinking the dye molecules and allowing them to be washed away. It is supposed to restore you to your natural hair colour although because dying can sometimes lighten the natural hair, I have found that the product simply lightens my hair and takes me to a ginger / honey blonde sort of shade.

The reason that I use this product and my tip for its use is to use it every few months to give your hair a break and a better base for dying it. By removing all of the layers of old dye, any build up is then gone and a clean base is created. I always find that after a while of dying my hair, the colour gets gradually darker or not as bright and using the Colour Remover prior to dying my hair really does make a difference. Not only this, because the dye is removed from my hair this means that I have a lighter base and thus a brighter colour pay off! This product does not damage the hair in any way like bleach would. It does not dry it out or cause it to break - in fact my hair actually feels better after using it.
So, now I shall show you guys some pictures and give you a little run down of how you apply and use the hair colour remover and how I like to use it..

In the box you get 3 bottles marked A, B and C. A is an activator, B is the remover formula and C is the buffer treatment. You also get instructions and some gloves in the box. You are instructed to pour bottle Bs contents into bottle A. You then shake the bottle and you are ready to apply. I applied mine similarly to how I apply my hairdye; the hairline and roots first, then the length and then all over the hair working it into the roots and lengths with my hands and a tint brush in areas. After this, you are told to wash out the remover and rinse for five minutes. You then apply the buffer which works like a sort of conditioner and leave it on for a minute and then rinse. After doing this you are told repeat the whole step once more.

As I said, this left my hair a ginger / honey blonde colour. It felt soft, lighter and just generally healthier. There is a lot of product and it covers really well - especially on thinner hair. I left mine on for the maximum specified time, also. After I had rinsed, I left my hair to dry naturally for a while and then dyed it with my regular dye. I found that my dye took better and even before a few washes I could see that it had definitely taken well and was a lot brighter. My hair just feels way healthier and lighter now and it is nice to know that all that nasty dye build up has been removed!

As you can see, it sent me this ginger / dark blonde kind of colour!

And there you go. That is my review and personal advice for this product. I probably do this every 5 or 6 months. The product itself usually retails for around £9.99 in your local drugstore as well as in Supermarkets. Currently it is only £8 in Tesco which is a bargain!

So yeah - thank you so much for reading. I hope you found this post interesting and helpful! Have you ever tried this product? If so, how did it work for you?

OOTD: 27/07/13.

Todays outfit was quite girly with a little bit of an added casual edge to it.

Firstly, I wore this sleeveless, black and white, polka dot blouse. With it, I wore this berry red skater skirt and I added a belt around the waist. With these two pieces, I then wore my Topshop denim jacket.

On my legs I just wore some thin denier black tights and my black Light Oxford Converse.

Finally, as a little accessory I wore this long gold coloured heart necklace.

So that was my outfit today! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading.

Top Drugstore Mascaras!

Mascara - I myself have tried so many different ones. Some of them come with big price tags and not all of us - including myself - want to pay them. But not to worry, there are actually plenty quality drugstore mascaras out there..

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara - £10.99:
This mascara is a huge favourite for many. The plastic brush allows for even coating of the lashes and the formula lengthens lashes beautifully. This mascara gives you lovely long looking lashes yet still makes them look natural.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara - £7.99:
This mascara is an extremely popular product, this mascara is well known for how well it volumizes the lashes. I can definitely say it does just that and I have found tha the patented spoon brush fans out the lashes from corner to corner and curls them really well. This mascara is perfect for a night time look, giving you big and beautiful lashes.

Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Mascara - £1.99:
I have found that this is an ideal mascara for every day use. It covers the lashes well and gives them a really nice natural look. There is no clumping and no flaking either!

NYC Show Time Mascara - £1.99:
This brush on this mascara lengthens the lashes extremely well and as well as this, it also helps to lengthen. There is no clumping or flaking creates from the formula which is thick and covers the lashes well. The price of this particular mascara is an absolute bargain for the quality in my opinion!

And those are my top drugstore mascaras. There are plenty more out there of course, but these are my personsl favourites. I would definitely recommend all four and I think they are really worth a try. You never know, you may just discover your new favourite mascara if you do! Thank you for reading!

OOTD: Sheer Polka Dot Vest.

So today I thought I would do another little outfit post...

I wore this light blue, sheer vest top which has this cute bow detail and polka dot pattern on it. As it was fairly sheer, I wore a white bandeau top underneath the vest.

With the top, I wore these navy blue jeggings that I rolled up slighty. I find jeggings a better fit than most skinny jeans and these particular ones feel exactly like jeans themselves to the touch but they are a lot lighter and much better to wear on hotter days.

Finally, on my feet I wore these bow detail ballerina pumps in silver. These are really cute flats and add a girly touch to any outfit.

And that was my outfit today!

Thank you so much for reading and I will list the items and where I got them from here:

LIEBSTER AWARD!

Hi guys :)
So today I saw that I had been nominated by Nadine at http://rosyblossom.blogspot.co.uk for a Liebster award! A Liebster award is an award that is give to bloggers who have under 200 followers as a way to promote and share their blog with fellow bloggers and a wider audience. After hearing about this, I am really excited to become apart of it.

The terms for the award are as follows:
  • You must answer 11 questions asked by the nominator.
  • You must come up with 11 of your own questions to ask whoever you nominate.
  • You then choose 11 nominees of your own, making sure they too have under 200 follows.
  • Finally - tag your nominees and let them know so that they too can take part!

My questions from Nadine:

1. What is your most expensive beauty buy ever?
I can't really receall my most expensive buy but I know that I will tend to spend more on skincare products and foundations. This is because to me skincare is really important in the sense that I want to make sure a product is right for me and my skin and isn't going to harm it so sometimes I feel you need to pay that little bit more!

2. What is your most used beauty product?
My most used product is probably mascara. At the moment it is L'oreal's Telescopic and I use it the most because I think it can make such a big difference to you whole face and it is something that I therefore always have on.

3. Do you spend more money on skincare or makeup?
As of late, it is both because I tend to want to always try out new products and discover new brands. As I have gotten more into make up, I know go out and buy more of that and I do tend to have my skincare essentials that don't really often change as much as my make up ones do.

4. What beauty product do you never leave the house without?
Concealer and mascara. This is because of the main things I like to change or make pop within my make up is my face and eyes. I have fairly blemish free skin so a little concealer here and there is great for when I am in a rush and makes a faster alternative to a full application of foundation. Then mascara is a must have because I have such big eyes and they are the first thing people often notice so making then brighter and bolder with a little mascara really makes a big difference for me.

5. How long does it take to do your makeup in the morning?
If I am rushing myself (or usually someone rushing me!) about 30 minutes is my record, haha. If I am chilled out and taking my time, anywhere from 1-2 hours!

6. Who is your favourite beauty blogger/YouTuber?
My favourite YouTubers are really the people who made me more interested in both make up and skincare and made me want to blog to begin with. My favourites are probably BeautyCrush, Grav3yardgirl, Pixiwoo, Emma Pickles and MichellePhan.

7.What beauty item do you own the most of?
Blushes and eyeshadows. I think these two are great products for trying out loads of shades of. There is so much variety and so many ways that one can compliment the other. I enjoy experimenting new looks and a simple change of blush to a brand new eyeshadow look can really make all the difference.

8. Would you rather never be able to use mascara or concealer again?
Probably concealer because I find a good enough foundation that gives me decent coverage, I think I'd cope!

9. Full face of makeup or bare minimum?
I have days where it varies. When I want to play around with an eyeshadow look I will go for a full face and do a whole look. When I don't really feel like doing a whole look, a simple natural face is great for me too.

10. What is your favourite makeup/skincare brand?
My favourite skincare brand is probably Simple, The Body Shop and Soap and Glory. For make up, I would say Rimmel, MUA and Bourjois as they make my favourite foundation!

11. What do you want for your blog in the future?
I just want my blog to keep growing. I want to keep on writing and improve over time and gain more opportunities within it. Ultimately, I just want to keep enjoying what I am doing and hope that others do as well :)

My Nominees are:

My Questions:

What is more important to you: make up or skincare?
What is your current favorite fashion trend?
Where do you shop most for make up?
What is your favourite drugstore beauty brand and why?
What is your everday, signature make up look like?
What make up product can you not live without?
What skincare or make up product is highest on your wish list right now?
Do you prefer neutral make up looks or bright looks?
What make up must you always carry with you?
Who inspired you to blog / first made you interested in make up?

Have fun answering these questions and I hope you all take part!

NOTD: Bright Orange.

My nails today are painted this super bright and really pretty orange colour.

The colour itself is from Missguided and it is their own brand of polish. The shade is called Misstaken and it retails at £5.

After applying the polish over all my nails, I waited for it to dry and went over with a top coat from Collection 2000.

And those are todays nails! What colour are yours today?

Supermarket Review: Tesco Shower Creme Tea Tree and Mint.

So, whilst browsing in Tesco one day, I decided to pick up a new shower gel. I was planning on getting the Original Source Tea Tree one as it is one of my favourites. As I was about to grab it I spotted this Tesco one. It looked the same and for more than half the price, I decided to give it a go!

After using it, I noticed it smelt extremely similar to the Original Source gel. Not quite as lovely, but still very nice. It foams up really nicely and a little bit goes very far. It also gives your skin that tingly feeling that the original does, leaving you feeling very fresh and clean.

Overall, this product is a really great dupe and is a good product in its own right. For £1, I really don't think you can go wrong at all. Definitely worth a try!

Are there any Supermarket beauty products that you would recommend?

5 Quality Eye Shadow Palettes Under £10!

As we all know, eye shadow palettes can be pricey and most people think you can only buy high quality with high prices. But, there are actually quite a few high quality and low priced palettes out there that are really good and I feel are worth the investment! In this post I will share with you a few of those said palettes that I myself have tried and tested and tell you a little bit about each.

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette - £4:
This palette contains 16 beautiful shimmery shades. All the shades range from golds to browns with some highlight colours in there too. The colours would make a perfect smokey eye look. As there are so many shades, you can create many different looks as well. There is a bit of fallout from the shadows and the lightest colours are not as pigmented but this can be easily worked around.

Sleek Oh So Special Palette - £7.99:
This palette contains twelve pretty shades varying in matte and shimmery finishes. There are lighter colours such as pinks as pinks and corals and then there are darker browns and a useful black matte. This is a really nice palette for creating wearable everyday looks.

Sleek Snapshots Palette - £7.99:
This a brighter palette compared to the other Sleek one I just mentioned. They neutral colours for the crease and then much brighter ones like purple, a bright pink and green shades. Again, the palette is a mix of matte and shimmery finishes. It is great for someone who wants to play around with colour in their eye shadow looks.

BeautyUK Soho Palette - £3.99:
This is a great starter palette for someone wanting to use bright colours in their looks. There are two purple shades, a pink, three blues, two greens, one yellow and one orange. The palette is very pigmented for the price and you get even better colour payoff with the application of a primer beforehand.

eBay 88 Warm Palette - £6.99:
This palette contains 88 neutral eye shadows ranging from shimmery to matte. Most of the shadows are extremely pigmented for the price and they blend well. This is a perfect shadow palette for someone new to eye shadow and is a great place for them to start.

And there you have it; 5 beautiful, high quality eye shadow all under 10 pounds each! At prices like that, these are definitely worth a try in my opinion. Thanks for reading and I hope you found this post helpful!

Review: Aussie Colour Insurance Leave In Conditioner.

I am a massive fan of Aussie products. They are probably one of my favourite hair care brands. So when I walked into Superdrug and saw a 2 for £7 deal on their range, I snapped up the chance to get some more of their products right away! One of the things I picked up is their Colour Insurance Leave In Conditioner and this is what I shall be reviewing in this blog post!

The product claims to protect hair colour and prevent it from fading for longer. As well as this it promises to provide shine and improve hair strength.

The product itself smells lovely as most Aussie products do. It left my hair feeling really nourished and moisturised which is great as my hair can be prone to dryness due to heat styling. It has definitely helped to preserve my hair colour and as well as this, I found the conditioner detangled my hair very well, leaving it much more manageable.

My hair feels softer and looks a lot healthier after using this. It is much less frizzy and I feel that it has helped to prevent the increase of more split ends which is great. I like to spray mine onto the ends mainly as my hair can get greasy easily.

I would definitely recommend this product to those who have coloured hair and even those who don't. For me it has numerous uses and benefits my hair in more ways than one. And getting it along with another product for £7... well that is definitely a win win for me!

Thanks for reading and I hoped you liked this post!

Have you tried any of Aussie's products?

MOTD: 19/07/13

Todays eyeshadow look is this really pretty shimmery purple and pink one. I think this look is very cute and is ideal fo Summer wear! Keep on reading to find out how I achieved it..

First off, I primed my eyelids with my Elf primer. Next, using my Sleek Snapshots palette, I took the darkest matte purple colour and put it all over the lid. In the crease, I took the matte pink from the palette and blended that into the crease and outwards slightly. On top of the purple that I started with, I took a shimmery lilac shadow and applied it on top. I took more of the pink and blended that in again and then more of the matte purple and added that into the outer corner to darken it. I took it from the outer corner and worked it a little way into the crease too. Next off, I mixed the pink and purple together and lined my bottom lids with it. I highlighted my brow bone and inner eye corner with a shimmery white shadow and lined my waterline with some as well. After this, I took a liquid eyeliner and lined my top lid - flicking it out. Finally, I curled my lashes and applied mascara.

The look is complete. I hope you like this look and enjoyed this post. Thank you for reading!

The products I used were:

Eyes/Eyebrows:
• Rimmel Brow Powder in Medium.
• Elf Eyelid Primer.
• Sleek Snapshots Palette.
• Collection 2000 Liquid Eyeliner.
• GloMinerals Waterproof Mascara.
• Elf White Pearl Eyeliner Pencil.

NOTD: Summer Nails.

Today I went for a cute, Summer nail look.

I painted each nail a bright Summery colour using BarryM polishes and one MUA polish. I think the overall look is really pretty and perfect for this time of the year. The nails were super easy to do of course, but making them multi-coloured just adds that little bit more!

MOTD: 15/07/13.

Today I wanted to trial a look I had seen a photo of on Instagram. I thought it was really pretty and so decided to use it as inspiration for my eyeshadow look today!

So, as always to begin I primed my eyelids. I then used my Sleek Snapshots eyeshadow palette and took a shimmery light blue/green colour and applied this all over my lid. Once I had done this, I took some of the purple from the palette and put that in outer corner and in the crease. I blended this in with a fluffy brush and brought the purple about a third of the way onto my lid. Slightly above the purple in the crease, I added a little bit of the bright pink and blended that around as well. I then took a little bit of shimmery white eye shadow and put that onto the inner corner of my eye and brushed it across my brow bone as a highlight. I then lined my bottom lid with the purple from eyeliner and smudged it in a little. I lined my waterline with a shimmery white shadow as well and then lined my top lid with a liquid eyeliner. I applied a little bit of mascara and that is the look complete!

Thanks for reading, I hope you like this look and have fun if you try it!

Products that I used:

Eyes/Eyebrows:
• Sleeks Snapshots Palette (Humming Bird, Purple Haze, Magneta Madness, Martini).
• Elf eyelid primer.
• Glo Minerals Waterproof Mascara.
• Collection 2000 liquid eyeliner.
• Rimmel Brow Powder.

Review: TRESemme Colour Fade Protection Conditioner.

I have never really been into TRESemme products, but as of late I have been trying them out. Most recently, I purchased their Colour Fade Protection conditioner. The product claims to protect colour for 40 washes and to make hair softer and more manageable.

I dye my hair and so keeping my colour bright for as long as possible is an important factor to me. I have tried quite a few products that claim to prevent fading but they never really do the job. This product however, pleasantly surprised me.

I noticed straight away that no colour was washing out in the shower compared to usual. After using the shampoo for a few days I have noticed that my hair look shinier and feels a lot healthier too. It makes my hair incredibly soft as well which I love. Overall, this product is something that I would definitely recommend - especially if you dye your hair.

Birthday Beauty Haul!

So, for my birthday I received and bought a few little beauty items and I thought would share them with you in a haul post!

The first thing I got were these two Sleek items which you may have seen in a previous post. I got the Face Form palette in the shade Fair and the Snapshots 12 colour eyeshadow palette.

Next off I got two Barry M polishes from their new Gelly collection. I am really excited about these and look forward to trying them. The shades I got the polishes in are Dragon Fruit and Guava.

I also got a MUA polish. As you can see the packaging is quite reminisicent of Essie's. I got this little polish in a shade called Frozen Yoghurt.

Speaking of MUA, I also bought two of their lipsticks. I got them in shade 2 and shade 13.

Staying on lip products, I received Soap and Glory's CheekMate lip and cheek stain. I got mine in a shade called Rosy Glow.

The last lip product I got is one of Barry M's Crayon Lip Lacquer in Cherry Red.

And finally, I picked up Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation in the shade Ivory.

And that's my birthday beauty haul! Thanks for reading and I hope you liked this post.

Have you tried any of the above products? What do you think of them?
