REVIEW: Maybelline The Rocket Mascara!

Hey! Today i've got another review for you all and this time it is on Maybelline's The Rocket Volum' Express mascara.

Now, I'm a bit of a mascara junkie and I love trying new ones. I have the fortune of having long lashes but the misfortune of having straight lashes. This means that I am always on the look out for a mascara that can give me and maintain a curl in my eyelashes.

Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara in 'Blackest Black'.

I absolutely love Maybelline mascaras, my favourite being their Falsies mascara - so naturally I was more than happy to try another one. I picked mine up for a bargain price of £2.99 from FragranceDirect (check them out!) in the shade 'Blackest Black'.

The mascara wand is very thick and tapered and it really coats every lash nicely. I love mascaras that give me volume and this mascara is perfect for that. If you want a more natural looking mascara, this probably isn't for you and there are days that I don't want as much thickness or fullness in my lashes and so I won't use this. I like to change up how I want my lashes though and this is great for a more volumized look.

This mascara thickens the lashes nicely and you only need about two coats, then you're good to go! It can tend to look a little clumpy but that's generally what you get from mascaras that promise volume. It's not too much of a big deal though really and I personally thinks it adds to the overall look that this mascara gives you.

To conclude, I personally really like this mascara and I can definitely see why other people to do. It gives you great volume and great definition. It really thickens up those lashes and makes a great day and night mascara in my opinion. Like I said, if you want something that lengthens but does not thicken or give you that volume - this probably isn't for you. However, if the latter is what you want - give this mascara a try!

Thank you for reading this review - I hope you liked it! Have you tried this mascara, what did you think?!

A New Addition...

Hey!

As you may or may not remember, a little while back I did a 'Meet my pets!' post where I introduced to my little pet family. (If you want to see that post, just click here!)

Well, today I have a new member of that family to introduce... meet Thor!

Thor is a fully bred Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he was born on the 21st November so he is almost 3 months old. I got this little guy when he was 9 weeks old and i've had him now for nearly a month! As you can see his is mostly black with white patches all around his body - he also has speckles of brown on his black coat too.

He is so cute (a little poser when in front of a camera as you can see) and such a lovely little dog. He's settled in really well these past few weeks and he's definitely coming into his own character. My cat Bella and he have their little feuds now and then but they have been getting on really well which I'm happy to say!

He had his first vaccination a few days after we first got him and he will be due for his second set soon. I just can't wait for him to be able to go outside and for him to be old enough to take on walks!

That's all there is to say really, I hope you enjoyed this little post and thanks for reading!

Current Beauty Favourites - February 2014!

Hey! So, today's post is going to be a beauty favourites. I've never really done any favourites posts before but i'm thinking of making them a regular thing. So yeah, as I said this is going to be a beauty favourites - more precisely my make up favourites... enjoy!

First off, is my Elf eyebrow kit. I used to use pencils to fill in my brow but as of late I really enjoy using powder to fill them in as I just think it makes my eyebrows look a little bit more natural. I really like this eyebrow kit - I don't really use the wax side of it but the powder I've been liking a lot.

ELF Eyebrow Kit in the shade 'Medium'.

Next on my list is another ELF product. This time it is their Matte Lip Colour which is basically a lipstick in a retractable pen form. I love the face it is retractable and more like a pencil as I think this allows for more precise application. It's a very pigmented lip product and it lasts for quite a while.

ELF Matte Lip Colour in the shade 'Rich Red'.
Third on my favourites list is my Urban Decay Naked palette. This palette is loved by many and rightly so - it is perfect for creating beautiful, everyday eyeshadow looks and the 12 shades in this palette makes it highly versatile too. Each shadow is so pigmented, ranging from shimmery to matte finishes. A must have palette in my opinion!

Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette.
Next we have a Nars lip gloss. Lip gloss is not something I typically wear - especially not alone. I do like glosses, but I find a lot of them have very little colour payoff and most end up clear. I know glosses aren't typically known for being highly pigmented but I do like to see a little bit of colour in them when applied. This Nars product has just that and it's very natural and wearable for day to day which is why I've been wearing it so much!

NARS Lip Gloss in the shade 'Angelica'.
This Nivea primer is another product I've really been enjoying recently. It's completely different to any other primer I've tried; it has a very different consistensy and it is really more like a moisturiser. In fact, it actually feels like one as it makes my face feel very hydrated and moisturised. And of course, it primes well too - I can definitely tell a difference in the longevity of my makeup when I wear this.

NIVEA Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer.
This Revlon foundation also gets a place on my list. It has great, buildable coverage and feels very light and natural on my skin. It eliminates redness well and I've been wearing this foundation most days now for the last few weeks.

REVLON ColourStay Foundation in the shade 'Buff'.
We have another Revlon product here and this time it is a lipstick. I absolutely love purple lipsticks - it's my favourite colour but  I have trouble finding any nice, purple shades. This Revlon lipstick however is  an exception as this shade is really beautiful and natural - perfect for everyday.

REVLON Lipstick in the shade 'Lilac'.
Here's a Sleek product now and it's their FaceForm palette. This is a super handy palette as it has 3 products in one. It has a contour powder, a highlight and a beautiful shimmery blush. This is perfect for those days when you are in a rush as everything you need is there in front of you in one.

Sleek Face Form palette in the shade 'Light'.
And last but not least, we end with another Sleek palette. This is one their Pout Polish's and it's basically a tinted lip balm that promises to moisturise and condition the lips. It's nicely pigmented for what it is and again, it's a nice lip product for every day.

Sleek Pout Polish in the shade 'Pink Cadillac'.
And those are my current make up favourites! Thank you very much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post - let me know what you want to see next!

HAUL! ASOS, BOOTS, SUPERDRUG, MUA & FOREVER21!

Hey guys! So, it's been about a week since i've posted now - sorry it's not so regular right now but I will get back into the swing of things soon! Today's post is a haul, enjoy!

Let's start with beauty and skincare! The first few things I got were from Boots. Revlon had a 3 for 2 offer on and there were some things I really wanted to try from them. Firstly, I finally got a Revlon Lip Butter! I got mine in the shade 'Lollipop'.

I got one of there Matte Balm's in the shade 'Shameless'. Finally, I got a nail varnish from Revlon too in the shade 'Enchanting'.

On to Superdrug, I picked up 2 MUA nail varnishes. One in 'Natural Days' and the other in 'Pistachio Ice Cream'.

Sticking with MUA (but from their online store) I got 3 makeup brushes from them. They have newly released their brushes so I was very excited to order some and try them. I got the E3, F3 and E6 brushes.

Lastly from MUA, I got their Undress Me highlighter.

The very last beauty / skincare item I picked up was from The Body Shop and it's their Aloe Vera Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash.

Now let's get on to fashion! Firstly, from Forever21 I got this plain, red dress. I also picked up this white and grey baseball style t-shirt.

The last shop I got things from was ASOS. I firstly got this high neck, black crop top. Then, I got this oversized polka dot shirt. And last but not least, I got this lovely lace up heeled boots.

And that's everything! Thank you so much for reading, I hope you liked this haul!

REVIEW: Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow!

Hey!

It's been a while but I'm back and with a review for you all! Today, I'm going to be reviewing an eye product; Maybelline's 24HR Colour Tattoo Cream eyeshadows. I have three of these eyeshadows in the following shades: Eternal Gold, On and on Bronze & Permanent Taupe.

The first thing I love about these eyeshadows, is that there is so much product in these little pots. And a little bit of them, goes a really long way. I rarely need to get anymore on my fingertips more than once unless I want to deepen the colour - which by the way you can as they are super buildable.

They are really creamy to the touch and very pigmented, too. As I said, they are extremely buildable if you want to go for a more intense look. I for one love how easy they are to apply - it's perfect for those mornings when I am in rush but still want a nice eye look.

'On and on Bronze'.
'Eternal Gold'.
'Permanent Taupe'.
I do use them alone - in those busy mornings when I have no time, but they actually make great primers and bases for other shadows too. These eyeshadows do not crease either and they won't transfer which is great.

Overall, these eyeshadows are a winner for me and I'm not a fan of cream eyeshadows. These ones however, I love and I'll definitely be purchasing some more shades soon. For £4.99 a pot, these are amazing value and they are going to last you a very long time. They have multiple uses too, perfect for experimenting with and for trying out new looks!

Have you tried the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Cream eyeshadows? What did you think? Let me know!

DISCOUNT BEAUTY HAUL!

Hi! Today I have a haul post for you guys. I was browsing on the site Fragrance Direct and I found out that they had a massive sale on make up. Some of the discounts I saw were amazing and so naturally, I couldn't miss out and I got a few things! So, I got 3 things from their and the rest of the things in this haul are from eBay and Poundland. All things were discounted so I guess that's sort of the theme for this post!

Starting with Poundland, I picked up two nail varnishes. There were both by Sinful Colors - a brand I've been wanting to try for a while. I got a baby pink varnish in the shade 'Cotton Candy' and a purple polish in the shade 'Fiji'.

Now, from eBay I picked up a foundation. This is a repurchase of one of my all time favourite foundations and that is the Bourjois Healthy Mix. This is the original formula and packaging as you can see, and it is no longer sold in stores from what I've seen. The shade I got was 'Vanilla'.

Onto Fragrance Direct finally, the first thing I picked up was another Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream eyeshadow. I love these little guys and I just had to get another. They make for super easy and fast eye looks and also make perfect bases for shadows to go on top of. I got this one in the shade 'Eternal Gold'.

Next I got another nail varnish. This is a Maybelline Colour Show one in this lovely pink shade. It's shimmery and has a blue tone running through it.

Last but not least I got a Maybelline mascara. This is the Rocket Volum' Express mascara and I got in black.
