MOTD: Lilac and Pink.

Today I have a makeup of the day post for you all, enjoy!

To begin, I applied moisturiser, foundation and concealer. I also filled in my eyebrows with a mid brown shadow and brushed them through a little bit.

On the eyes I wore this pretty lilac and dark brown eyeshadow look. I used Sleek's Snapshots palette to create this look by applying the lilac onto the inner two thirds of my eyelid and then I took a copper brown colour and applied that into my outer third and into the crease a little bit. I also took the copper colour and lined my water line with it and took a shimmery white shadow to highlight my inner corner and brown bone. I applied my favourite mascara and the look is complete!

Onto the cheeks and contouring, I contoured using my MUA bronzer and then used my 28 colour blush palette from eBay and used a light baby pink shade on the apples of my cheeks. I also highlighted using my Sleek Face Form palette, applying it to my cheek bones and along the length of my nose.

Onto the lips, I applied some lip balm and then dabbed and blended in a little bit of the matte pink shadow from my Snapshots palette. I took a little bit of my Rimmel Vinyl Gloss lip gloss and applied that on top of the lips for a more shimmery look.

To finish the look, I applied a little bit of powder and that was it!

I hope you like this look and if you give it a go yourself, tell me how it went!

Mini Fashion Haul! 28/09/13.

I have fashion haul for you today! This past week I have picked up a few pieces which I thought i'd share with you. Enjoy!

So, first off I picked up this parka coat. I absolutely love it! I have been searching high and low for the perfect paka coat and I am so happy I managed to find this beauty! I love the fur hood detailing and cosy, fluffy inside. It's super warm and very comfortable. I got this coat from Select Fashion and it cost me  £35 which I think is very reasonable.

Next, I picked up this tartan looking shirt. This shirt is very light weight but not too think and its an oversized fit which I love. I got one size bigger so it would fit a little baggier on me and so that I could wear it with leggings. I really like this shirt and have been looking for something like this for quite a while. I also got this from Select Fashion and it was £14!

Thirdly, I got this really cute grey, woolly hat. I love the fluffy little bobble it has on the top. This hat is nice and thick and will be perfect for the Winter. I found this hat in Newlook and it retails for £6.

Now, last but not least I have this tee shirt. I recently saw my favorite band EVER Paramore in concert and as I always do, I picked up their tour shirt from the merchandise stand. I love this shirt and I know I will be getting a lot of wear out of it. This cost £20 which is actually cheaper than the one they sold at their last tour, no complaints there!

And that was my little haul. I hope you enjoyed this post - thank you for reading it! Leave me a comment or suggestion for future posts, I love to hear from you!

REVIEW: MUA KissProof Lip Stain.

Hey guys, today I thought I would post another review! This review is on MUA's KissProof Lip Stain. So, I picked up one of these lip stains from Superdrug in the shade 'Fruitilicious'. This lip stain promises to get rid of the problem of 'bleeding lips' and lipstick that does not last all day.

You can these lip stains in 3 natural shades and they are extremely pigmented. They have a mild scent to them that isn't too overpowering and I found that the the felt tip itself is very wet and there is a lot of product on it. I like this because sometimes I find that other felt tip lip stains can be quite dry and difficult to build upon in terms of colour.

This lip stain does NOT smudge or bleed which is great! It lasts for a good for hours and it dries fairly quickly. I would recommend putting a gloss or lip balm on top however as it can make the lips look a bit dry.

As I said so, it is very long lasting and you can definitely eat and drink without worrying about it coming off.

This lip stain retails at £3 and you can get it from Superdrug or via the MUA online store. This is really good lip stain and it definitely keeps its promises!

REVIEW: Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms!

So, I have been wanting to try Maybelline's Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balms for some time now. I have seen a lot about them, so was really happy to find them in stock at my local Superdrug!

These lip balms are advertised by Maybelline to hydrate your lips for 8 hours as well as visibly renewing them in up to 4 weeks. The balms also contain SPF20 which is always a bonus.

In terms of pigmentation, I found that the particular shades I purchased were surprisingly pigmented for a lip balm. The shades that I have are Peach Kiss and Pink Punch. The Pink Punch is sheer without shimmer and Peach Kiss is more on the shimmery/frosty side. They both look lovely on the lips.

The balms glide onto the lips really nicely. The consistency is not too heavy or too thick and it feels light on the lips. They aren't too sticky feeling on the lips either and they do actually feel moisturizing although I would not say it is exactly for 8 hours.

Both of these lip balms have a really delicious scent to them that isn't too overpowering. The packaging is very cute and the sticks retract fully into the tube which is great because you can avoid knocking them or breaking them when you pop the lid back on.

All in all, I really like these lip balms and I would definitely repurchase them. I can definitely see why they are so popular and for me they are a great alternative to a lip gloss or a lipstick if you don't want anything that is too heavy or perhaps want something that can still look nice but be nourishing too.

I would reccommend you try these lip balms if you haven't already! They retail at around £2.99 in your local Boots, Superdrug and some supermarkets.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post!

Makeup Haul!

Hey lovelies! I have a little haul post for you all today.

So, I have recently started University and I actually picked up some make up from the Freshers Fair there as well as a few bits from Superdrug.

So, lets start with the fair! From there, I was approached by a woman who worked for a cosmetic brand called Oriflame which is Swedish. She handed me a bag full of make up goodies and of course I didn't decline! The first thing I got was this lip balm, it smells delicious and contains almond.

Next, I got this shimmery white jumbo eye pencil.

I got this eye crayon in the shade Desert Brown.

I also got this pretty pink nail polish. It doesn't seem to have a shade name though!
Finally, I got this lip gloss. It is very shimmery and is this lovely orange shade called Nectarine Frost.

So after the fair, I popped into Superdrug. From there I picked up four things. Firstly, I finally got my hands on Maybellines' Baby Lips lip palms. I picked up two in shades Pink Punch and Peach Kiss.

I then got an MUA KissProof lip stain in the shade Fruitilicious.

Finally, I picked up an eyebrow pencil from Rimmel in the shade dark brown.

That's my little haul post, guys! I hope you enjoyed reading this post - thank you for doing so!

Have you tried any of the products I picked up?

DIY Egg White Peel-Off Mask!

Hey! I don't know about you but I love DIY beauty treatments and I have one I would like to share with you today. It is super easy and very inexpensive. I am going to show you how to make a peel off egg white face mask! This mask helps to whiten your complexion, remove blackheads, tighten the skin and is great for those with oily skin. Let's begin!

So, you will need:
  • A bowl.
  • 1 egg.
  • A fork.
  • A few squares of tissue.

Firstly, get your bowl and your egg and then seperate the yolk from the egg whites. Let the egg whites fall into your bowl and throw the rest of your egg away.

Once you have done this, give your egg whites a good whisk until frothy. Now, take your squares of tissue and rip them into smaller strips.

After that, dip your paper strips into the egg yolk, shake off the excess yolk and apply them evenly around your face.

Let the strips dry on your face, this should take around 10-15 minutes. Then, slowly and gently pull the strips off of your face in a downward motion.

Wash your face with lukewarm water and then apply a mild, light moisturizer. And you are done!

Have fun trying this out and let me know how you get on, thanks for reading!

NOTD: Bright Coral.

Today I am wearing an MUA polish that I recently picked up from Superdrug. I am in love with MUA polishes at the moment and I can't believe they are only a quid!

The shade I am wearing is called Bright Coral and it is this lovely pretty pink shade. The polishes are amazing pigmented and only require two coats. They last for a good few days - probably up to about a week which I think is great.

Just as a top coat, I applied my 2True polish and my nails were done!

Have you tried MUA's new polish range yet?

Mini Superdrug Beauty Haul!

Today I have a little Superdrug haul for you! There was free delivery and so I simply couldn't resist a making a few little purchases..

The first thing I got was this Collection 2000 Fast Stroke liquid eyeliner. I actually didn't realize that this eyeliner is brown until I took a picture of it using flash. It goes on and dries a very dark colour that to me looked black, either way I really like this eyeliner so far!

Secondly, I got this MUA bronzer in shade 1. It has little shimmery bits in it when you look at it in it's contained but the skin, you can't really see them. This is a very light and natural colour which is why I am going to be using it for contouring!

I also picked up 2 lipsticks, both from MUA. I got the shades 11 and 'Juicy'. I really like both of these colours, they are very wearable for everyday and they are very pretty.

And that's my little haul! Thanks for reading this post - have you tried any other products I got?

My Daily Makeup Routine!

In this post I thought i'd share with you my every day makeup routine; what products I use, how I use them and all that good stuff. My every day makeup is a spin on a classic natural pin up kind of look and it's my go to when I am in a rush to get ready!

So, to begin: I always moisturise my face to prime it and I then apply my foundation. The foundation I am currently using is Rimmels Wake Me Up foundation. I apply it with my Real Techniques buffing brush. Sometimes, I like to stipple my foundation on and then buff it in!

Once I have applied my foundation, I move onto concealer. I use my Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer. I just apply this using my index finger under my eyes and a little bit on the lids to get rid of discolouration and I also apply anywhere where there still remains a little bit of redness not covered by my foundation.

I then set my foundation and my concealer with powder. I use my Rimmel Stay Matte powder and I pat it onto my face lightly using my Real Techniques buffing brush.

Once my face is done, I move onto my eyebrows! I like to use powder on my eyebrows to fill them in. I use a Revlon brow powder duo which has a mid brown and a dark brown powder in it. I use a Real Techniques slanted eyebrow brush to fill my eyebrows in with short, feathered strokes.

Moving onto eyeshadow, I like to keep in quite natural. I firstly highlight my brow bone using a shimmery white shadow. Then apply a light beige shadow all over the lid and a mid brown on the outer corner and into the crease. I blend this out and up towards the brow bone a little bit. I then apply a darker brown shadow onto the outer crease, blending it out and keeping it on the lid and working it into the crease.

After applying my eyeshadow, most days I will wear a cat eye. To create my cat eye, I like to use a liquid liner and the one I am using at the moment is Collection 2000's Fast Stroke. I also line my waterliner with a black kohl liner.

To finish the eyes, I curl them and then I apply my favorite mascara which at the moment is L'Oreal's Telescopic Mascara in black.

Moving back onto the face, if I am in a hurry I will use my Face Form palette from Sleek which has blush, highlight and contour powder in it. I apply the blush on the apples of my cheeks and outwards a little bit using a fluffy powder brush that i got from Boots. To contour, I suck in my cheeks and apply the contour powder onto the hollows of my cheeks with my Real Techniques contour brush. Using the same brush I higlight with the highlight colour, applying it along my cheekbones and along the length of my nose.

Finally, I base my lips with lip balm and then apply a lipstick of my choice. Usually I go for my Soap and Glory Cheekmate lipstain or a coral/pink shade from MUA.

And that's my every day look complete! Thanks for reading and I hope you liked this post. Leave a comment or suggestion below, I love to hear from you!
