Real Techniques brushes are made by sisters Samantha and Nic Chapman (Pixiwoo from Youtube). They are designed to be quality, expert brushes retailed at an affordable price.
I got my own Core Collection as a Christmas gift and I was very excited to receive them as the collection and indeed all of the Real Techniques products are raved about in the beauty world.
The set itself contains four basic brushes:
A buffing brush: - This brush is my favourite from the collection. The bristles on it along with the others in the set are beautifully soft to the touch and very high quality. The brush is dense and very flexible allowing it to be ideal when applying liquid foundations or simply to buff them out once applied to achieve a more natural look. I also like to use the brush to apply my powder on top of the foundation for a matte and more flawless finish.
A contour brush: - This brush again is so soft and extremely dense. The end is tapered and therefore makes it great for accurate application of contour powder or a highlight. It can also be used to apply blush and is equally as effective.
A foundation brush: - This brush is effective for applying foundation but it is not my brush type of choice as i prefer to stipple mine on. Nonetheless it is still a great brush and I think the smaller than average size makes it perfect for concealer coverage as well.
A small detailer brush: - This brush is small and tapered and makes it ideal as a concealer brush. It again has multiple uses and can also be used for detailed eyeshadow such as a brow bown or inner corner highlight or even to apply lipsticks with.
Overall, these brushes are amazing quality at an even amazing price. At only around 21 pounds for a set of four high quality multi-purpose brushes, you really cannot go wrong at all and I would definitely recommend them! Mine were from Amazon and you too can find them there, online or at your local Boots store.
